What is Perfect Properties?

Perfect Properties is a Residential and Commercial property search tool. A powerful search tool that has everything users need in one area. Perfect Properties will replace your traditional home search tool as well as your commercial search tool. Minimal designs, and important information to find your dream property.

The Challenge

Our challenge was to create a unique property application that offered users an abundance of features such as commercial or residential property selection, advanced filtering, advanced map, and many more useful features.

There are more than 2 million commercial property owners in The United States, having an option to search for commercial properties gives these select users an easy way of finding their next property, or next business. Not only do we offer properties for sale, but buildings, restaurants, and office spaces for lease. This is a perfect application for investors in real estate, providing them with a seamless experience.

The Solution

An application or web app that provides not only residential real estate properties for lease and sale but also provides a commercial property option. With both of these choices, having the ability to search with advanced and detailed features allow the user to find their preferred home or commercial property. This application or web app should still maintain traditional aspects of competitors to allow users to function with familiarity

Reflecting on Our Challenge

As we reflect on our challenge of creating a real estate application with a focus on both residential and commercial properties, we recognize the impact of not having low-fidelity wireframes. This limitation hindered our ability to develop quickly. When facing complex design challenges, it is essential to incorporate detailed low-fidelity wireframes. This ensures that the design intentions are clear when transitioning to the final design phase

The Conclusion

What went well?

The competitive analysis I conducted provided vital insights into the real estate market. By comparing multiple popular real estate applications on the AppStore, implementing the basic traditional structure to PerfectProperties, and removing poor features from the apps, we achieved a well-rounded final product.

What went wrong?

Minimal sketching led to spending more time than necessary on the initial design process. With more detailed sketching, I could have completed the early designs much faster and reached the final product more efficiently.

What could be improved?

More user testing should have been conducted to gather crucial feedback on the user experience. Although I conducted 1-2 user testing sessions, I believe that 5-10 sessions would have provided a well-rounded, diverse range of feedback from different types of users.
