Revamped Interface

The Problem

A poor user experience when booking flights. United Airlines is the company I use the most when booking my flights, and I've had to overcome the challenging user experience over the past couple years. I decided to recreate the user interface into a more simplistic, user friendly interface, that allows the user to book their ticket seamlessly.

The original booking interface.

Why it's a difficult experience for users.

  1. The user interface is not welcoming, there is tons of cramped information and limited space, especially when trying to look at pricing differences between different cabin types.

  2. It's difficult to tell where you've selected to fly from and your selected destination. Other than the information presented to us at the top, we have no other indication, and this could be an issue for users.

  3. The way the layout is presented causes confusion. Information that is important, is not clear, leaving a user wandering.

Clear cabin choice

Now its easy to select a cabin, and view the tickets available in each class.

Ticket view

Ticket view will show dynamic tags such as "Lowest" and "Refundable" to help customers identify potential deals.
